High Performance Computing Training Workshop
September 10-11, 2007

Session Two

The Computing Research Institute and the Rosen Center for Advanced Computing will host a training workshop on High Performance Computing September 10 & 11, 2007. The goal of this workshop is to increase the attendees’ knowledge of parallel architectures and parallel programming on state of the art HPC environments. Attendees from other institutions and industry are welcome. The topics covered by the workshop will include

  • Parallel Programming Models
  • Multicore architectures
  • High-end HPC architectures
  • MPI
  • OpenMP
  • TotalView parallel debugger
  • Performance analysis
  • Condor
  • Hands-on lab sessions

Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own laptops for the hands-on sessions. Network connectivity will be provided. Your laptop will need to have software that can give you an ssh connection to a remote Linux machine, e.g. SecureCRT. In addition, It would be helpful to have software like PC-Xware, or equivalent, on your laptop that will enable graphical output from a remote Linux box. If you cannot bring your own laptop to the workshop, please let Melanie Lindsay (Lindsay@purdue.edu) know. We will provide a limited number of laptops to workshop attendees.
